SARR Prickly Pear -  Sunday, 3 / 12 / 2017 

Prickly Pear - 50K, 10mi, 5K
Start times: 50K - 7am, 10mi - 8am, 5K - 8:30am
McAllister Park - Pavilion 3 (Optimist)
Finisher Medals for 50K and 10Mi
tech shirts, chip timing, post race party.
All runners treated to fajitas, rice, beans and beer at the post - race party.

Getaway 5K, 1 mile Family Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run - paid advertisement - non-SARR Race

Grab the entire family and join us for this new event meant to bring a little fun to your winter routine.   Sunday, Feb 26, 2017, 8:00 AM  

Event includes 3 distances: a timed 5K Run, a 1 Mile Family Walk and a Kids Run. 

Event features a post event, beach themed party with food, vendors and entertainment.

All participants receive an awesome event shirt.  

5K finishers get a cool medal that doubles as a refrigerator magnet and a bottle opener.

SARR Meetings SARR monthly meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at Academy Sports & Outdoors, located at 4071 North Loop 1604 West, near the intersection of Loop 1604 and NW Military Highway. (map)

Our Mission The San Antonio RoadRunners (SARR) promote health and fitness in San Antonio by putting on races, training opportunities and fun runs and walks throughout the year. With over 1,000 members, we are still growing and we're excited to help you get in shape along with us!

 Running and Walking - Rules of the Road  Walkers and runners must always practice safety first when training near traffic! The first four of these are Texas laws.            
  1. Please always walk/run facing oncoming traffic.
  2. Always stay on the sidewalk when one is available.
  3. If there is no sidewalk, always stay near the left side of the road in single file.
  4. Do not cross intersections opposing street lights.
  5. Always watch for traffic in all directions - vehicles are bigger and danger is ever present.
  6. Light colored clothing is always recommended.
  7. On cloudy days or at night, wear/use reflective gear - front and back.
  8. It is recommended you run/walk with a training partner or a group.
  9. If you use an MP3 player, remember you need to be able to hear traffic, angry animals, etc.
  10. First and foremost - Safety First! It could save your life.

1.    Race name – best to include distances like 5K/10K
2.    (optional) Event web page URL or race flyer(.pdf or .jpg)
3.    Start date
4.    Start time
5.    (optional) On-line registration URL
6.    Can people register at the event on the day of the race?(Yes/No)
7.    Race Location
8.    (optional) Description or other free form info to cut and paste from an email into the race announcement.  Formatting will be preserved where possible.  Info on awards, pet policy, or strollers can be added here.
